961 American IPA is one of the more expressive, hop-driven beers in the brewery’s lineup. It opens with aromas of citrus, pine and subtle floral notes from American hops.
On the palate, grapefruit and a light resinous character come first, supported by gentle malt nuances reminiscent of caramel and freshly baked bread. Rather than pushing bitterness to the extreme, it offers a solid structure and leads into a clean, pleasant finish.
The result is a balanced and approachable American IPA, less sharp and dry than some modern interpretations, but expressive, well-built and easy to enjoy.
