Gaia

Founded in 1994 by Bordeaux-trained oenologist Yiannis Paraskevopoulos and agronomist Leon Karatsalos, Gaia explores Greece through two emblematic grapes and regions: Assyrtiko and Agiorgitiko in Santorini and Nemea. It now also produces Assyrtiko in the limestone hills of Nemea, revealing a softer, more fruit-driven side of the variety than on its volcanic island home. Gaia’s experimental spirit extends through wild fermentation, clay vessels and underwater ageing, across white, orange, rosé and age-worthy red wines.
