961 Beer
Mazen Hajjar founded 961 Beer in 2006, beginning with experimental batches in his Beirut kitchen while war unfolded outside. Named after Lebanon’s international dialling code, the brewery became a pioneer of the country’s craft-beer movement. Its American IPA sits alongside Lebanese Pale Ale, developed with Danish brewer Anders Kissmeyer and seasoned with za’atar, mint, sumac, sage, anise and chamomile.
